What is Brief Therapy?

Brief Therapy is an approach to therapy that focuses on solutions to the current complaint or problem, rather than spending time on the history of the problem as many other approaches do.

In this practice, techniques are used from Brief Therapy, Strategic Therapy, and Impact Therapy - which are all focused on solving the problems that bring people to therapists in the first place - as quickly and efficiently as possible. Brief Therapy seldom requires more than 8-10 sessions, and sometimes only one or two!

Hypnotherapy is also a brief therapy, but in this practice, it is done only with individuals.  Brief solution focused therapy can be done with individuals, couples, or families.
